Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) in all the 774 local government areas in Nigeria say they have commenced
grassroots mobilization for the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar,
ahead of the 2019 election.
National Chairman of the
Forum, Alhaji Idris Gana and Publicity Secretary, Jwe Phillip Gwom, in a
statement on Sunday, urged Nigerians to vote out President Muhammadu Buhari and
the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in 2019.
It said the party’s mass follower-ship across the country
will give it victory over the current administration which, according to them,
has failed to deliver and fulfil the promises made to the masses.
’’The people are going
through untold hardship at both urban and rural areas across the states with no
effort made by President Buhari’s government to make life comfortable for the
people of this country,” the forum stated.
“The electorates at the local government areas across the
country have expressed their readiness to take their destiny in their hands by
voting for change of government come 2019; to have a new President come on
board with economic programs that will turn around their fortunes.
“What people are craving for is free and fair conduct of the
2019 general elections to produce their choice at the Presidential, National
Assembly, Governorship and State Assembly Elections and INEC must live above
board to deliver as promised.
‘’Let us warn here that the
voters at the local government areas knows who they want to assume different
positions and any attempt to rig the polls would be resisted by the people”.
The statement expressed confidence that an Atiku presidency
would turn around the economic fortunes of all Nigerians.
we are strong, great, positive, and together Atiku will be the president come 2019. The Govt of APC has failed the country.
